Colleen Mooney has owned and driven motorcycles, raced her sailboat in long distance competition across the Gulf of Mexico, crewed on super yachts racing in Key West and has been scuba diving from Florida’s panhandle to the Maldives. Her love of snow skiing has taken her to slopes in New York to Colorado and the Alps. She loves to relive and write about these adventures, people she meets and her beloved hometown of New Orleans.
Colleen’s love of dogs, especially Schnauzers has been channeled through her rescue organization for over thirteen years. She is the Director of Schnauzer Rescue of Louisiana and has rescued and placed almost 300 Schnauzers to date.
Growing up in New Orleans and then being transferred with AT&T to other cities made Colleen realize how different New Orleanians really are and inspired her to write her first book, ‘Rescued By A Kiss.’ (2014)
When Colleen isn’t scuba diving or writing, she likes to spend time with friends and family enjoying local restaurants, food, festivals and parades.
You can take the girl out of New Orleans, but you can’t take the New Orleans out of the girl!
